Low German Mennonite Program:
VES offers special classes in our school to support the Low German Mennonites. This program is designed to teach the regular provincial curriculum, but at the same time, respects their culture and religious beliefs. We also offer German School on Friday mornings which is taught by two of our Low German Mennonite moms. Mrs. Vogel helps our German teachers to provide instruction in these classes. Students in main stream classes may attend Friday German classes by making a request to the school principal.
Adult Learning:
Through Taber Adult Learning, our school provides instruction to parents. Many Low German Mennonite parents attend this program to learn basic literacy skills. They also provide daycare for children younger than school age.
